This gauge allows accurate setting of the vertical gap between
the center line of the 5/8" diameter roller bar and the knife
edge in .001" increments.

The Vertical Gap Gauge consists of a dial indicator and a bubble
level set in an aluminum block and comes complete with a device
for zeroing the gauge.
To zero this gauge, lay the gauge in the zeroing jig with the
5/8" bar in the saddle. With the gauge front contacting
the 5/8" bar, the lip on the jig must be contacting the underside
of the lip of the gauge. Zero the dial indicator.
To use this gauge, set the gauge onto the knife edge with the
front face and plunger in contact with the roller bar. Level the
gauge using the bubble level. As the bar is raised and lowered,
the beveled plunger acts as a wedge moving back and forth to change
the vertical gap reading. **NOTE: Horizontal gap must not be such
that it forces the front edge of the Vertical Gap Gauge away from
the roller bar.
