The roller bearing conversion, which is usually installed in
conjunction with the helical gear conversion, puts all of the
rolling elements (gear shafts, pinion shaft and both ends of the
tie rods) in double row spherical bearings. The gear and
pinion shaft bearings are located in heavy duty sealed pillow
block housings, while the tie rod bearings are enclosed in a sealed
cavity built into the end of the cast alloy rods.
Installations: 8, as of 4-99.
